I am honoured by the privilege to deliver this Paper before this distinguished professional body. Only the best academic students are admitted into your profession. Typically, people that have never failed any examination. Conversely, I have had to repeat a class in secondary school, amongst many other failings. So, you can imagine how intimidated I am. But I could not dodge this invitation being someone with a sweet tooth: I cannot afford to offend dentists.
Now, the chosen topic is a perennial topical issue in Nigeria. Not only in your profession. Nigerian businesses and professional services that have transcend the founding generation are few and far in between. I assume the goal of this discourse is to engender a partnership and succession that is enduring and the measure of its success is generational succession. That is our goal in my opinion.
